We are Field Lectures and Instructional Travel Enterprises, or F.L.I.T.E. Tours, Inc. We are a San Diego-based birding and nature tour company established to promote the San Diego region as a fun and exciting place to visit and explore if you enjoy birding and nature study.

For the purposes of our nature-oriented activities, the San Diego region is defined as encompassing all of San Diego County, as well as portions of Imperial County and the Salton Sea, and northern Baja California. Our motto is “Two countries, twenty habitats, and one hundred species of birds, in one day. You can see them here!”

FLITE Tours, Inc. is pleased to provide opportunities for interested individuals and groups to enjoy and observe the many distinctive birds native to this region. We are also engaged in developing programs that promote the recreational potential of San Diego County’s natural areas, and to educate the public about the value and importance of San Diego’s natural resources. Our mission is to offer specialized expertise and knowledge about habitats, butterflies and bird life of the San Diego area.

At FLITE Tours, we have the experience to provide fact-filled programs for groups and classroom settings, and we can design and assemble informative and entertaining excursions on the flora and fauna of the region.

San Diego County has been shown to be one of the most biologically diverse regions in the United States. It is possible to travel from the Pacific Ocean, through pine and oak-clad mountains to the desert, in a single day’s ride. This unique environment supports a wealth of habitats, plants and animal life.
